Are you curious about how genomics is shaping healthcare, or personally affected by a rare or genetic condition?

Join us either in person at the Wales Genomic Health Centre (CIGC) in Cardiff, or via Microsoft Teams, for a session of engaging talks, as well as some fun genomics activities and a festive genomics quiz.

Genomics Showcase 2026

Genomics – the study of a person’s entire DNA (all the information that makes them unique) – is transforming medicine and healthcare.

Whether you’re a health professional, researcher, patient, or a member of the public interested in this exciting topic, this in-person event is a chance to connect with others, share experiences, and explore how genomic science is changing lives.

Join us and be part of a dynamic day of discovery, learning, and inspiration, as Wales showcases some of the latest advances in genomics.

This first-of-its-kind event in Wales offers a welcoming space for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation. The programme includes engaging talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions for all to enjoy. Attendees will hear about cutting-edge research, how science is being applied in real-world situations, and how genomics is shaping the future of health and medicine in Wales and beyond.

The event and programme have been designed together with Genomic Partnership Wales’ Patient and Public Sounding Board, ensuring that patient voices are at the heart of the day. It is designed to offer value, insight, and inspiration for everyone.

Save the Date – Sixth Form Genetics and Genomics Conference

Last held in 2023 our Sixth Form Genetics and Genomics Conference is back with a bang.

The day of talks, on Thursday 5th February 2026, provide year 12 and 13 students a chance to hear about some of the cutting-edge genomic research happening across Wales. We will be hearing from researchers, clinicians and engagement professionals across Wales so join us for an amazing day of genomics.

This online session will feature multiple short talks throughout the day so you can drop-in and out as you wish, there is no requirement to attend the entire day. Alongside the talks there will be a chance to ask questions directly to the speakers.
